PLM Touch Screen
For a .Net developer like me, it gets pretty me pumped to see solutions like Silverlight 3.0 and .Net 4.0 hitting the scene. Adobe based products, Java and the cool Ajax client side functionality within web interfaces are great things to use in development.
As we all evolve into a more touch screen way of life, however, PLMers need to truly start thinking about the implications that it will have on our product solutions. Inventions such as the Iphone, Microsoft Surface and even the new ‘Tablet’ are just the beginning of an age that is too new to even suggest how the PLM industry will bite into it. Conversely, as a PLMer, the next best thing is to be aware of the touch screen age (the “Conceptual Age”) and educate on the possibilities.
